I guess it all depends on a few things -
(1) how deep your pockets are
(2) what you want from the car
you seem to mention looking at some sort of Lambo as part of your future plans. sounds like an amazing option, but probably as a fun car / track car rather than a daily drive.
so I'm assuming that the RS4 is your daily drive car. I think in this role (its my only car and daily drive BTW) its an amazing machine. I drove a new S3 last year and was very disappointed, this was at the time I was driving a milltek mk4 R32, which felt as quick (subjective I know, but probably not a lot in it stock vs stock) but for me felt / sounded / looked much more special. And thats where the RS4 wins me over BIGTIME, not only is it an excellent daily drive, fast / comfortable / classy, with the milltek fitted and valves open it feels VERY special indeed and on full chat is a total animal
, but close the valves and drive sensibly and even with a non-res milltek my mum is perfectly happy to be ferried around in it or my baby niece can happily fall asleep in it.
If I had deep pockets I would keep the RS4 as a daily drive and indulge in something expensive and exotic like you are considering. The S3 would be a very good daily drive car, comfortable, quick (with a remap and exhaust even quicker), but still nowhere near as special for me. sounds like the change will be expensive and you have not had the RS4 long, is a shame if you havent got out of the owning / driving experience that which the rest of us have.
just my opinion!
