Regarding the service (lack of) history, even if it only did 4000 miles, the car should/would have 'asked' for a service after 2 years IIRC, so if it's not been serviced from new for nearly 3 years, it's not got a FSH. Probably a good way of getting your deposit back that one? If you do go and take a look, find out when the next service is due and do some basic maths.
In terms of Leeds Audi/VW, I bought 2 new cars off them in the past, then had a fall out and vowed never to go back again. I haven't, and I've had 3 Audi's since, but don't read too much in to that, as it was more to do with disinterested and obnoxious sales people rather than the cars themselves.

Thanks a million for your posts folks - just what I was expecting / looking for.

I am going to walk away - I will speak to the sales manager shortly.

They have at least said they would stand by warranties on the car!

I have spoken to my usual audi salesman and can confirm the car has had absolutely zero audi dealer attention until it landed at Leeds a month ago.

I will start my search again next week - if anyone has a nice avant to sell, let me know!

I actually went to school with the guy whose selling it. He's one of these VW fiends so you can be pretty certain its been well looked after (although its being sold via the business I'm pretty certain its his car)
