Quality, you lot are getting me all giddy! Got about 4-6wks for things to fall in place.

Did you manage to chip the price from Audi Pie?
I did yes, took very little effort to be honest.
I told them my set max price but they kept trying to get a bit more from me.
Ended each call saying I couldn't commit to the price they were wanting and if that was the lowest they could offer then I'd have to leave it until the end of the month or possibly the end of March before putting down a deposit.

Sure enough they'd be back on the phone within the hour coming down a little more.
Kept this up over a couple of days until I got them down to my price.

At the end of the day, I wasn't in a huge hurry to buy one but I knew they were approaching month end and wanted to make the sale.
OK, they maybe didn't make the huge profit they were after but its still another car sold in their books!

well mine 07 RS4 saloons back from Audi this week, had the following fixed under warranty

- leaking air on drivers seat
- cruise not working
- elec windows not working off keyfob
- a pillar trim coming away

All sorted in a few days under warranty. With any car you'll get niggles, but by fast best car I've owned to date (I've driven Subaru for the last 11 years).

It does what it says on the tin, and does it extremely well.

If I sold tomorrow I'd buy another the day after

Buy one they're amazing! I've only had mine a couple of weeks and it is an absolutely awesome driving machine. As has already been said, EVERY make of car has its faults but when you weigh up all the pros and cons the RS4 is probably far better than most cars of similar performance. I would ignore all this stuff about the supposed power output not being up to the claimed figure, it doesn't matter, its a seriously quick car that will see off 99% of other motors you are likely to meet on the road. And the noise..... :D !
Current;
Porsche 997.1 GT3RS. Pure Orange, ceramics, etc, Sharkwerks exhaust
BMW 2002 restomod; Turbo body kit, S14 M3 Evo engine and lots more
Audi Q3 Black edition Quattro

Previously enjoyed;
Ibis White B7 RS4 Avant : TTS Supercharged 615ps/614 nm
Subaru Impreza 22B
Noble M400
TVR 400SE
Lotus Sunbeam Avon

I have had a couple of problems with mine that i got from Auto prestige, they have 6 in stock at the moment but i ask everyone not to use them as their aftersales is zero and am now waiting on trading standards getting in touch after the recorded letter and 14 day wait, still nothing from them.

However its all fixed and would not swap the car for anything as its brilliant and as everyone says its a good forum for moaning as its such a niche car.
My opinion is check DRC, Oil cooler pipes and radiator, also service history and next service due.

Every performance car has its foibles - there are "Friday cars" out there (as with any model) but, by and large, you'd be hard pressed to find something that offers the mix of performance and practicality that an RS4 will offer you.

The concerns that you read about tend to fade away once you get in the car and press that starter button...

If you go into performance car ownership thinking it will be trouble free you are mistaken.

Boundries are pushed to deliver great cars.

The RS4 is one of them...it aint just a A4!!

6 months into ownership and DRC swapped (24 hours at dealer) and sat nav ariel replaced.

I've never had a car which hasn't been back to the dealer.

Jonah,

I'm 57 have always loved performance cars from Mini Cooper S when i was in my 20s, to 325i Sport, M3s, Evo V1 now onto the best i have EVER owned !
It just grows on you all the time. Build quality excellent
Take my advice, get one bought while there are some younger well specced models out there for you to choose from
You will also never have a problem finding a buyer for your car if kept well serviced and in mint condition
I have driven other quick cars since owning my RS4 but nothing would tempt me away !!
Have you had a long test drive in one yet ??
Mint Optic Pack saloon in Daytona Grey (Now sold)
B7 RS4 in Sprint Blue (Gone to a very good new home)
Evo V1 (wish i'd kept)
Numerous M3s

They are going wrong much less frequently now. Some of this might be down to more dealers doing a decent fitting job, but the modified part looks to be a major factor.

Remember that there's a 5 year / 75k mile extended warrantly on all DRC related issues, so you needn't worry about it
where does this 5 year 75k milage warranty come from i have not heard of this please?

Shameless plug but why not look at my car:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1554739.htm

It's a truly great great car and as has been said already, we won't see the likes of it again. I've only put it up for sale this afternoon but I feel like I've just split with my girlfriend, I've got that horrible tug on tbe heart feeling. If it doesn't sell, maybe I'll try and keep it along with the car I've got coming! Or is that just greedy? Honestly, I think this car is and will remain to be an icon - if I could afford to keep two cars, this would without question be one of them. They are absolutely solid and awesome things - I think the Audi engineers put there all into this car before the green brigade could descend on them. Get one - you will not look back!!

...and in a document sent to all dealers at least a year ago. Some might genuinely not know (and some might feign ignorance) but enough owners have the letter if you ever need some proof

If we have this letter, we should scan it and display it on a DRC sticky thread.

The letter was only sent to people who wrote to Jeremy Hicks, and includes the details of a specific vehicle, it's not a generic letter.

The circular sent to dealers is the generic confirmation that this warranty extension applies to ALL UK RS4s - but some Audi dealers seem to have difficulty reading and think they haven't had the circular!
