As an nsight, this week on a closed trade auction site a very clean 2006/06 saloon made £23850 at 66k miles
1 owner and supposedly close to perfect apart from a couple of Golf ball dents in roof which could supposedly come out.
No Nav but buckets.
1 owner, FASH
Prob on sale somewhere now
Came from Porsche main dealer.

What did I say!
That is it.
No badge on rear too

I have to say it looks nice but being just out of warranty, you could save £2000 over a low miler but have to fork out £2k+ for any issues.
Under 59000 miles and under 3 years old is worth a lot.

Given the high mileage and no tech pack i dont think its too bad pricewise,as above i personally would spend a little more for something with half the mileage,£2k across a £26k car isnt bad at all for a dealer but as with most very popular motors the margins will be less but swift turnover compensates, from an owners point of view im really not sure the under 3 yrs old is of much benefit as the warranty doesnt cover expensive consumables, tyres brakes etc should be closely inspected on any purchase prior to buying as your on your own afterwards, that particular car must be nearer 4yrs old than 3 has high miles and is still commanding 50% of its new price, not bad at all

I'm after a May 2007 Saloon, 26k with Nav, Sports Suspension, Auto Bootlid and a few other bits and pieces. 12 months Warranty and 12 Months Tax. Dealer wants 33k. Trying to decide if its a good price

Have just traded my 07/57 Avant, I know it's price to change, but it was clear that the dealer wanted my car, I was able to improve the initial price to change by 2k from what was already a reasonable starting point. I'm not the world's greatest negotiator, but I've bought a lot of cars in my time and there is a healthy market for RS4's right now. He made the comment that there are only 20 or so in the dealer network and they're pretty easy to sell, provided it's the right spec (seats and wheel a must). Colour is a matter of tase, but his view was that Black and Grey are safest, FWIW mine's mugello. All in all, my car will retail between £37- 38k, it's a good spec with 33k on the clock, but needs new fronts very soon and a service. I've owned some great cars, but as an ownership prospect the RS4 takes some beating, I will really miss it.

so how much will a car loose if it never had warranty, would it be worth paying for extended warranty so you could sell it for a premium and regain the money back at sale?

...May have answered my own question there :/
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

It wouldnt loose anything,im not sure you could add 1200 to the value of your car either, these cars are far from the b5 that had the risk of turbo failure@ £3.5k and gearbox rebuilds @ £2.5k which were bills worth protecting yourself against, what has gone regurly wrong with b7s drc? no drama its covered anyway, clutches possibly but thats a may or may not be covered item, other than that not much at all so is £1.2k worth it? Seriously if you are to spend that kind of money on a warranty you obviously see the car costing you more than that in repairs,on what............... sure there will be the odd unlucky owner and friday car but thats life eh? My car does have a little extended warranty left and unlikely to renew it,i really dont think it would add any value look at the top seller of rs4s on pistonheads thyre not a main dealer offering extended warrantys

I did renew mine purely for piece of mind but also for resale. Remember if the Audi warranty lapses its a lot more than 1200 quid to renew/start again.
Each to their own I suppose. Nowing my luck nowt will go wrong with it for the next 15 months.

thing is, these cars are pretty new...say 3 years on average...so nothings gonna break

but when they get to 5 or 6 years old, things start to go, and then the warranty is much more attractive and more potent on reasale

I understand your thinking, but given years 5 and 6 will probably be at an increased annual premium and a reduced cover do you think £4k in warranties will be less than what will go wrong with the car? I certainly do especially as the ""all component" b*ll*cks is just that when you read carefully,i would like to wager i could run my car ie tyres brakes etc and cover repairs for less than the £4k over that 3 year period,my view may be slightly tainted by the fact im an aircraft tech by trade and wouldnt pay £120 an hour labour for menial tasks such as brakes oil changes etc. I also have vagcom to keep an eye on the car for myself.Ive not yet seen a post on here for mafs lambda probes autochangers etc etc like the old b5,i think overall they are better in terms of issues but that is only my opinion so far of course
