Pretty much what I have been told. If your car is out of warranty the new warranty costs more and you have to also have a pre warranty inspection. Absolute rip off.

Feel sorry for those in extreme circumstances; "I'm sorry sir but because you were in a life threatening coma when your RS4 warranty expired we will charge you another £1200 over the normal cost to renew it for being so inconsiderate."

I was under the impression that once the 3 year manufacturers warranty has expired then Audi will not reinstate a yearly warranty.

When I bought mine I persuaded the guy I was buying it from to meet me at MRC in Banbury, they gave it an inspection for around £70, found there were no problems and I bought the car there and then, and then drove the guy home, if the seller knows the car is tip top and you pay for the inspection everyone wins, having said that I don't know about the warranty side of it, try calling Audi Warranty on 0845 6419798

Spoke to Rob, and he confirmed that it will be £2700 to get a new warranty on this car.. I have taken that off the asking price and waiting to hear back now as there are other interested parties involved. Just going to try and find one now which has some warranty left on it and get it extended for £1200 when I buy it ;)

£2700 off the price because you personally want a warranty is a touch hopefull to say the least, would you seriously pay that for a warranty?? Extended warrantys are diluted somewhat and at that price you could pay for one hell of alot of repairs if were unlucky enough to need to,finding a good straight car with the colour and spec you want can be hard enough, are you near a good specialist who doesnt charge brain surgeon labour rates? Just a thought as the bulk of the scary bills from main dealers is the horrific charging rates

Extended warranty is actually mondial not audi, they pay the dealership when work is completed at a much reduced labour rate, the warranty is very good my b5 had it,and my current b7 does but its not the no quibble audi warranty, ask in writing whats covered to make sure it gives you the comfort level you are expecting, theres nothing worse than sitting in the showroom and hearing "its not covered and will cost..........." The cover is very good and i would say its the best available but some bills will still land in your lap

Really makes me think twice about getting the warranty... mine is up in November, and seriously, even @ £1200 that is allot of MRC time!?
