Thanks to everybody for the supporting pics. Usually I'm to busy to stop.

All these roads are familiar to me, my wife is from Stornoway (ferry from Ullapool), I'm originally from Tongue where my folks still live and I now live south of Aberdeen. If going North I usually go by the Lecht (Tomintoul) route if I'm on my own. However, with a 1 year old now most trips are usually in the wife's A6 Avant and by the A96

forgot to add about the pics......drove down that hill in the winter a few years ago. The wind was so strong (steady not gusting) that on the straight near the top, I had more than a 1/4 turn of lock on the car the whole time just to get it to go in a straight line

Bit of a thread resurrection going on here but a friend shared this on FB this morning. Some video showing some footage of the section between Durness and Ullapool, A838, 894 & 835. I've driven this a few times, last time was summer last year on a gloriously sunny day. Really need to drive it more than once - once to enjoy the road and again to appreciate the scenery. . . I must be getting old.
