I want them on so I don't have to think about it every time I pull up somewhere (Which is dozens of times a day), I want the car to tell me if I'm going to hit something, it's how it used to be and how all my other cars have been.

The absolute worst thing to do is rely on the parking sensors or any other 'saftey feature' - these are driver AIDS not driver replacement. What do you mean you want the car to tell you - why dont you know!? It's like having the car floored all the time and expecting the ESP to sort everything for you.

Trouble is, you really should be thinking about it everytime you pull up, firstly you see that these things can fail so you should be aware of whats going on and secondly all your going to do it reverse and scrape one of the rear arches because this is exactly what happened to me and my friend in his RS4. I think everyone has had a wee scrape because they weren't paying proper attention but on these cars its expensive and annoying.

Sorry that sounds really preachy - I love you really :boots:

Waco Jako! yeah that grinding is normal just back off from full lock a tad, will save your pump too :D
