Fitted some H&R wheel spacers tonight
I've got 5mm on my HRE M40s 19"x9" with Goodyear 275/30 as these were required to offset (wheels originally made for Porsche\Merc). Not as much width as Graham but no rubbing issues.

I think you guys with the wider tyres would probably (although not 100% certain) have problems with the tyres going out further then the top of the wheel arches. Not a problem in itself - although illegal
but you would find it produced a lot of stone chipping and dirt from spray along the side if the car.
I could be talking total b0ll0cks of course but that's what I found out on my TT when I went just that little too wide - especially at the front.

I wouldn't want to due to reasons Graham and yourself suggest. Touch wood & fingers crossed, the 275s haven't brought stone chips with themP_G wrote:I was about to ask, has anyone used spacers whilst also having 275/30 R19 tyres. I have just had my Goodyears fitted today and they are just in line with the arches, if I used spacers I wiould have two concerns of them being too far out and rubbing.
Anyone tried spacers and 275 tyres?

Having had the chance to have a proper look at them last night, I doubt the fronts would now need spacers as they sit just about in line with the front arches, the rears could perhaps use 5mm spacers but no more.
Don't know if it is really ortht the money just to hve the rears lined up with the arches, no-one ios going to notice on the move. 275's are like tractor tyres from the rear aspect anyway!

I think its a great improvement and it looks the dogs. Has it affected the handling?Love_iTT wrote:After a long, long wait from H&R in Germany, my spacers were delivered today. I eventually got these through APS (absolutely fantastic company) after several aborted attempts with other companies.
Anyway, as soon as I got home from work it was in my garage and wheels off, it gave me a chance to clean them up (again!) but dead easy to do now that they have been waxed. I fitted 10mm at the rear and 8mm at the front. 10mm would be too much at the front but the 8mm looks just right, also there shouldn't be any problems if I eventually lower it later on.
I would show you a picture of them but as 'tonyoverdrive' gets fed up seeing pics of my Cab splattered around on this forum then you are just going to have to imagine what they look like - looks good though.![]()
Graham
I fitted them to my ole B5 RS4 and it handled a lot better but I also fitted them to a R32 Golf and I had to take them back off as it spoilt the handling.

IMHO bold is just as bad as caps i.e. SHOUTING.booski wrote:ChrisBass why are all your posts in BOLD?
Sorry about that, my spelling was abysmal in the last post!P_G wrote:Having had the chance to have a proper look at them last night, I doubt the fronts would now need spacers as they sit just about in line with the front arches, the rears could perhaps use 5mm spacers but no more.
