toluene is totally safe,it is one of the major constituents of petrol.the higher octane petrols have a higher proportion of it and most high street octane boosters are this stuff at a very inflated price!!
I typically get 300 to 330 miles a tank with 30 or so left according to dis.I do very few town miles though.(not known for being slow either!!)

Andyuk911,

Fantastic link and great ad for Ultimate! I've always used the best fuel I can find anyway...I think in a year I've only ever had to put 95 RON in it once.

However, it still doesn't quite answer the question as to whether using 102 RON in the car is worth it?

I can just about figure out how, when running closed loop, you might benefit, but open loop is when you want the power...but I'm not an expert...

I wouldn't go quite that far, it is safe as long as it is kept OUTSIDE of your home and WELL away from flames.

SR71, the only thing you will gain with 102 is a clean exhaust ... if you clean inside the tail pipes and run 102 they will stay that way.

To take advantage of 102 you will need to map a car to it and then the gains will be very little ..

300 is about the minimum I get from the RS tank now on V-Power, just done a journey from Newcastle to Wrexham and back on one tank, approx 380 miles and had 10 miles left to go.

And just to add, I don't set cruise control at 60mph to optimise fuel economy.

P_G - agreed. Sure I can get 150miles to a tank but rarely has it dropped below 300miles. I can comfortably do Swindon to Newcastle + some running around and uncomfortably do Swindon to Stirling....

The MPG drops (better) as the miles go on.
