Latest info from Germany:
After being treated like a tennis ball for a while this matter has now been passed to the "advanced support engineers" , had a call back from Germany on friday and they asked which workshop I normally work with and was I happy with them. After a little digging it appears that they will get in touch with Audi Spain ( who had the check to state that the last time my car was in the stealer's it left it "Perfect working order and that was the end of my complaint", even tho it only went in to have the bluetooth module reset, cant see how the hands free could effect BHP , but....) and if they do not have an engineer able to sort it they will send 1 from Germany to my local dealer to investigate and aid them to solve the problem.
Will keep you posted, but don't hold your breath.

AMD in West Thurrock are getting a new cooling fan fitted to the rear of the tunnel sucking cool air in from the outside world. Temperature was fine in there until the opened the bonnet to the V8 and then air temperature went up to 33 withtin about 2 mins and power run was down about 30 horse

If we get a solution to the power problem bear this in mind, according to Audi Spain if you take the RS4 to a dyno then you have lost your warranty , as it is specifically stated that you can do damage to the cars 4 x 4 system (maybe an old style dyno that does not have the rear rollers linked with fronts), but , according to Audi Uk when I rang up to ask about a dyno run , they instructed me to contact the Milton Keynes Audi dealer as they had all the tools needed to test the power output with a dyno run.
So....... one or the other is telling porkies, can guess who. :bash:

1) The air box in an RS4 has an extra flap in it that will open at times of high demand and when the car is on a dyno there is not enough cold air flow so the motor will breath warm air and therefore be down on power, What if you live south of the boarder?
2) The AWD system in the RS4 will detect that there is a difference in speed from the front to rear wheels and therefore the system will cut power down.

I doubt that anybody who has spent the money to buy and install a dyno was born LAST NIGHT. I could be wrong but..........

@ Nib = Even if we allow for loss in the drive train and back calculate flywheel Bhp, still short on the numbers. Anyway we will see, any and all dyno plots could help
Mike, what they are saying is probably correct.
JD Eng dyno runs always show that a luke warm engine develops more power than a hot engine and it is a fact that unless you have F1 type wind tunnels no dyno fan will ever produce the same air flow as a car travelling at high speed.
This is why the DMS dyno day was in my opinion a joke, S4INT's car produced its highest output after it had been on the rollers for HOURS and after 10's of runs.
In perfect conditions the RS4 engine will just about produce the stated output. As for Simple's car claim, well how much do we really know about what went on there? Not alot!
When was this Dyno Day?? I recall a Group Buy last year if that's what you're confusing for a dyno day.

Tis all about trust & i'd not take any real notice of any dyno plot unlike you who appears to swear by them. You know damn well that your JDE map is no better but likely no worse than DMS in any area, but we have passion for our chosen tuners & that's your only basis for the throwaway comment (JOKE) although you do state "in your opinion". Owners know & can feel the differences & that goes for any tuner chosen. Choices choices.

For the O/P, well done & i hope Audi come back with sensible feedback.
