I really must get myself VAGcom, I keep putting it off but there is more and times that I could do with it the braver I am getting in delving into the RS

have now had a while to take in the new ecu update and I have to say I am massively disappointed
I asked the dealership to reset all the basic settings (about 3 times) as stated above, but the car just feels like it's down on power now and really doesn't seem as quick as it did before
the 5000 rpm rush has almost completely gone too

Can someone help me with this.
My car is with Audi UK having had the DRC fixed, and they have done the 0090.
So, could someone explain what this 'resetting the basic settings' actually refers to, as i don't want the car back from them (After 4 months off of the road) with some sort of performamce 'fault'.
Is it overriding the 0090 and going 'back' to something previous, or is it 0090 PLUS some sort of reset?
Thanks!

The SW "learns" your driving style and uses what it learns to adjust the fuelling, timing, throttle response, etc.rjkflyer wrote:Is it overriding the 0090 and going 'back' to something previous, or is it 0090 PLUS some sort of reset?
Clearing basic settings is clearing out all the learning that happened with the previous SW version - this is a good idea because the new SW version might not store the learning values in the same memory locations.
So it's 0090 PLUS a reset.

Cars all sorted now thank goodness. Sorry its taken me so long to pos back, been away. Well They did reset all the basic settings on the ecus and then re flashed the car with the 090 settings. Had a very nice A6 coutesy car for the day. I was also informed that they had found a vacume pipe off the exhaust at the back, which was another reaon for the poor running so im told?Love_iTT wrote:Is there any way I can tell what version I have without resorting to VAGcom?
