When i reached 25.6 mpg average that was with about 75% of the distance on cruise its the only way to keep my foot off the loud peddle!!! But I'll try it without cruise just to compare

Since owning the car, I've only managed 17.8mpg on my DIS in 4000 miles. Mostly commuting and counrty driving. Best I've managed on the motorway is about 23.5mpg.

Maybe I just like that feeling of rapid acceleration, and the noise...

I used to get av of 23 on the b5 and expected a lot worse on this one but its actually OK Since I bought in Sept 4k done and average 21.9 with a good mixture of spirited driving and normal. Av speed is 40 ish I might add that my average journey is probably 25 miles. Motorway and so on mainly so it gets chance to warm up and that obviously helps against short and town journeys. Its definatley getting better and hey thats a good thing ! Missus gets 32 in the cooper s and she drives like the pope so not a bad return in all fairness...

Mine only has 200 miles on the clock and I poodle about 6 miles to work and back each day on country back roads so 30 to 70 driving and I get around 22mpg 24mpg more 19 20 if I get the chance to blast past a few slower vehicles tho. but had an E60 M5 on demo and couldn't get more than 16mpg doing the same journey.
