1000 miles & requesting oil?

Yeah - but your dealer won't think so if you screw your engine up somehow - they'll use it as a reason not to do warranty work.

Yeah but it could be interesting if an engine decides to go and Audi inspect the oil before deciding to fix it under warranty.

Mine had 1L topup in the first 7000 miles, then an early service at APS (@8k miles), and has just this weekend had another 1L topup at 12000 miles.

Probably tempting fate here but I have done nearly 3000 miles in my RS since I got it after service and not needed oil yet. IIRC acceptable tolerance can be anything between 500 and 5000 miles per top up.

Oil changed out @ 1500 miles.

Just put 0.75L in @ 5300 miles.

Does anyone know at what point the low oil warning light will come on?

All kinds of issues with how and when to measure oil level on my car because the level varies hugely depending on oil temperature at which you take the measurement.

Does anyone else have the same issues?

i.e., measure the oil level cold, and its out of range on the low side of the dipstick, measure it hot, and its out of range on the high side of the dipstick?

Oil temperature during normal ops cruising around town vary between 95-100C.
