You're joking arn't you? The labour costs that alone, from a main dealer you won't get any change out of atleast £250. My dealer was quoting £17/l for the oil.

When I changed the oil myself it cost me about £120 and that was with buying the oil from Opie.

Agreed - I paid £100 for filter, and labour

Then spent £115 on 13 litres of Titan GT1 from Opie - 3x4L needed for the change (although obviously leaves some spare) and a 1L to replace the in-car backup

I was looking in the boot to see what oil they gave me with my car... It was Castrol SLX Longlife II 0W-30. Should I put that stuff in my car or chuck it away and get something else?

The oil for an RS4 in the UK should be 5w-30 that conforms to VW Spec 504/507. Check the bottle again - sounds like they've put the wrong bottle in your car if it's 0w-30 (VW 502, 503.01, 505)

Which is why you never go to a main dealer for your oil change! (Personally I don't go anywhere near them ever since they quoted me £5500 to replace a diff on my groaning S2 when all it needed was a £13 propshaft centre bearing!)

Got my oil from Opie Oils (8L for £68 delivered) and have a helpful local Audi specialist.

Filter £21.28.

Labour £29.49.

Plus VAT.

I lied (because, of course, I got 2L of free oil in my boot).

It was ~£130.

I have covered 1300 miles and I needed to put just about 1L of oil in the car to bring it back to the correct level. Is this trypical usage? Thanks Mark

I have used about 300 mil, 1/3 rd of a pint in 2300 Miles, many of the guys here are using much more.

Mark, i have used about 1/4 litre in 1200 miles.I think each engine will vary slightly, but from what ive read, this engine can use a little oil, regards, SIMON.
