Multiply the MAF value by 0.8 gives an approximate flywheel BHP.

I have today had my 2006 B7 RS4 rolling road tested at Powerstation in Tewkesbury, and it produced, what I consider, to be a very poor 371BHP at the flywheel and 195 at the wheels, which is considerbaly lower than the claimed figures from Audi.

Can anyone else comment on what figures theirs have produced so that I can draw a comparisson, as I am a little down hearted at the moment!

Thanks.

I have had my car on the rr before and after a re map, mine before the map was 365ish and after was at 400, this was the figure at the fly wheel!

I have told Audi about the my car been down on power after comparing it to another RS4 they are going to look into it for me!
I spoke with somebody who sent theres back because "it felt down" on power and audi replaced bank 1 injectors, secondary air pump and fuel filter, after that the car ran and felt like it should do!
You positive it was at the crank as the figures you've stated are spot on for wheel stats.?? A RR user can normally only get at wheel stats off the machine, so they have to use a conversion (can be a bit hit & miss depending on which RR you use) to then give you the flywheel power. Most B7 RS4's i've know to go on a RR have come out bang on the money stock, that being between 412BHP-416BHP which is spot on as 414 is what Audi state.

Out of interest, who remapped your car?.

Great question (forgot to ask myself). Even if the figures quoted on the RR are not correct, they still show a 35BHP gain.

Perhaps you guys could provide some acceleration numbers (i.e. something similar to FATS ???). Most of us
know that RR's are bollocks and for cock waving rights only. Real world performance is what counts - so do some in
gear times or get it down to the drag strip. What about 3rd gear 4500K - 8000K RPM ???

Works for me. Was considering getting a data-logger later this year.

We know a DMS B7 RS4 is far quicker down a drag strip than an MTM B7 RS4 if that helps :D

They are underpowered though, mine was deifnitely not the claimed amount and certainly felt slower than other cars I've driven with the same power.

The stats I posted on the other thread suggest that too. Granted you expect the usual 4WD transmission losses but not as much as 90hp!

They are not underpowered. Your car either has a problem or you're not driving it properly. As already stated, RR figures mean jack <beep> no matter how accurate they claim they are. Then there are the issues of converting wheel horse power to power at the flywheel.

The ONLY extremely accurate way to measure engine horsepower is by using an engine dyno, which you will not be able to do unless you have your engine out.

What I can also tell you is that I had a 404 bhp/380 lb ft Evo VIII MR which weighed 250 kg less than my RS4. Yet my RS4 accelerates from 30-130mph in 15.5s vs 17.5s for my Evo (using Vbox timing equipment).

Ive been in heaps of cars that are supposedly quick and the RS4, Alpinas etc compared to Japanese, Australian V8, etc. The others feel quick, make heaps of noise, uneven power, rattle and shake and seem like they fly.
Get these owners in some smooth well engineered German machinery and they reckon they arent quick. Then line them up and they wonder why some BMW or Audi just left them for dead!

Should have gone to DMS, their RR reads alot higher, for some reason :P There is a huge discrepency out there.

BTW, mine read 364bhp at WRC TECH, Silverstone. The same place that did my 300SRT at 475bhp.
Never argue with an idiot, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Powerstation are known for having conservative rollers. I know this from my own experience.
