Is any ones car a little hesitant at constant revs?

Just spoke to customer services and there is no ecu reflash being listed. Have you got a dealer name that knows of this?

Audi cust/services should be able to put you right, if not phone Ipswich Audi or Cambridge I think are up to speed on this.

Speak to Cambridge Audi or Ipswich Audi. they should be up to speed, I don't know why Audi UK are silent, I will look on other forums to find out where I saw this.

Had a call from Cambridge and they know of a recall for warning lights comming on but are looking into it and have very kindly said they will call back.

Although i have noticed that if you drive the car hard and change up on the rev limiter it hesitates as you hit the gas in the next gear (regardless of the sport button being on or off) but when the ESP is off it does not do it.
So i now drive most of the time with the ESP off.

This kept happening to me and I thought I had been clipping the limiter and it had been cutting the gas on the next gear. ESP makes far more sense. Do you turn it off one click or fully off to avoid this?

Also I get the cold start hesitancy sometimes, like a misfire, tends to go after warm. My car was delivered March 07 so thought the ECU fix would have been included in any PDI - has anyone had a car so late that needed the recall?

The dealer has actually faxed me the paper which was very good of him.

When cold my car seems a little hesitant in that i can travel along at about 20/30mph with my foot on the throttle in one place and it hesitates and feels as though its missing a bit. When its warm it still happens but not as noticeable. I had this some time ago with an old r32 I had and they had a reflash that fixed this. Is there something similar for the rs4? I have also noticed that when you blip the throttle the revs hang a bit too long before dropping back to tick over, im guessing this is some anti stall precaution in the ecu but its irritating especially when you are trying to rev match.

I picked up my new black cab from the dealers last week and I have noticed what feels (almost) like the engine missing slightly expecially when in 3rd and below 3000 revs, so I am actually relieved to have come across this thread !! Would also appreciate the info on the ECU stuff when available.

I do miss the absolute 'whoosh' of power that used to be available in the RS6 when the turbos kicked in but as expected the RS4 is a much more involving driving experience.

Generally delighted with the car (and the weather has been kind, too!)

Congrats on your car, the missing thing is exactly the same as mine. I have just posted what I have found just before your post.

I have just spoken to another dealer who was extremley helpful and he explained that this up date only applies to chasis up to a certain number,Chasis numbers from 8E7N906499 are all up to date. We had a chat and he said that he experienced the same hesitating when cold and the fact that the revs dont drop quite as quick as youd like. My chasis is later so I guess untill something comes out its going to be a grin and bear it scenario. But if anyone has chasis numbers before that I would ask the dealer.

The hesitation goes weather the ESP is partially off or fully off.
