Surely there r tecnical boffins at Audi whom they can check with afterall the problems we have encountered r not isolated ones.
Exactly, the technicians are not much wiser than you or i,when they encounter these problems they seem to end up looking at one another blank.

I have not started paying for the car yet so worst case scenario I hand it back, cancel the dd and argue the toss then. Arsey, there are specific laws that apply to returning a new car, now that you have allowed them to attempt to repair it you are better off seeing it through, but when you get it back if there is another issue do not allow them to repair it but rather ask for a new vehicle or refund.
When i get a minute i will post the procedure for returning a new car under the sale of goods act/ not fit for purpose line as i took this route myself and it ended up costing me.

Thanks that would be great. After they had tried the subframe I did say to them that I wanted them to send it back, they have contacted the after sales person but as I said above i they are playing for time hoping that they can fix it before i pressurise too much to go down this route. I spoke to them last night and they said that they were hopeful but I have said that should i not receive the car back today then i want to proceed with the rejection process. I am quite prepared to have the car back at the end of today fixed but if its not my gut feeling is that it should be returned. Shame coz I love the car.

Been there with the B5 in 2001, nightmare, but the law states that they have 3 opportunities to correct the ssame fault then you entitled to return the car for a refund. most dealers will offer a 'buy back' which will obviously involved a lesser sum than purchase price. I was lucky as another car was sourced even though I was offered a full refund.

Up date, after a few emails and a telephone conversation they still have not located it although they are nearer and are whittling it down. We have agreed that should the car not be returned to me creak free by Friday then we go down the rejection route. I hope they sort it as I am missing the car. One good thing is that it has not been messed with internally.

Had to laugh, had an email last thing yesterday saying "were getting close". I just wonder if they started from the boot 10 days ago and worked up the car.
