I struggled with this for a week before placing my order. I finally got word that the dealer had 2 cars in stock with both variations of seats. The Buckets seemed cool at first, but after sitting in them I realized that long distance travel would be uncomfortable. Also, I banged up my leg on the bolsters and can only imagine what the girls will think trying to get in with a skirt on! I switched to the Recaro Sport Seats. Now I just have to be patient until February to get the car!

Strange, I just placed an order for an Avant with memory Recaro Sport seats and the order was confirmed. No problem to order that option in Switzerland on Avant's.

Sutters - a bit drastic considering the alternate seat options, expensive yes, but not that much when put into the total price of the car ..... unless of course you disliked the whole package. I too agree the seats are uncomfortable but intent to replace them ..... for the rest an awesome driving experience!! Take alot for me to find a better car, even BMW agrees having withdrawn the launch of their new M3.

marky. no the S button doesn't do anything to the recaros. i have just sold my avant this week, which had recaros. I went fr them due to the bad publicity the buckets were getting in the saloon when it first came out. quite a few threads on here about it at the time. I also wanted silver leather as a contrast, which wasn't possible in the 'black only' buckets.
On the resale factor, i think that i proabably didn't sell mine as easily as it diddn't have the buckets, which kind of surprised me. I sold to a dealer in the end, took the 5k hit, but will expect to see it for 55k on their forecourt soon!

If anyone else who is about to order their spec and wants to try the seats, PM me and i'll tell you at which stealer my car is at. or send me your email addy and i'll mail you some pics
