Let us know how you get on :audibash:

I've just returned with the car from the dealer, it was supposed to be booked in for 2 days.

New pipe ordered for the clutch - ETA 10 days.
"Comfort" settings applied to the climate to calm down the air flow at speed.
ECU read and sent off to Milton Keynes for analysis regarding the poor cold running.

Luckily the clutch stuck on the test drive!

All done in about an hour so hats off to Harold Wood Audi :D

Cheers

Ben

Issue with that is on chart in door shut, the pressures are 2.4 rear and 2.6 front, or 38 and 41 psi. When plugged into Vag Com, it claims tyres are over inflated and locks up DIS so you cant reset tyre warning.....

Had a word with our TPMS resident expert and without seeing the car and being able to plug vag-com into it, he recomends doing a system re-learn. It shoudl detail how to do this in your manual.

Once the re-learn is complete, the system will store your cold tyre pressures. Then go for a drive for 10 to 15 min, the system will then monitor your tyre pressures and temperatures and create a look up table so that for any given tyre temperature the system will know what pressure is correct and warn you if the pressures deviate from what you set them to.

It may be that the last time the system learnt, the pressures were lower, hence now why you are getting high pressure warnings.

A system re-learn should be performed every time a pressure is changed or a wheel swapped.

Check here for further info, www.beru.com.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Simon, it appears that the factory set pressure is what caused the problem. Set new tyre pressures into store facility and the alarm has not gone off again....yet.
As for the lights, I spoke to a fella at Audi Uk, who tried to sell me the hot lights, cold conditions story again, and eventually told me to take the car to dealer so they can test the seals in all the lights. Apparently, blowing an airline round the seals.... if they leak, the lights will be replaced, if not they will stay until they dis-colour. What was interesting is that I have been getting flashed at more often than normal and it transpires that the condensation on the inside of the clear plastic lens, destorts the light beam, blinding oncoming traffic, nice...........

Car is in this morning to have all this checked, apparently they had ordered lights yesterday, 'just in case they need changed' :smile_smoking:

Will you get the new clear indicators with these new front lights? If so I'm going to make some holes in my existing lights

That indeed would be a result if you ended up with the clear ones :D

I've just been told that the dodgy hydraulic clutch pipe should not affect my car, so it may well be another issue why my clutch doesn't disengage properly

Even though not the original part number, the car has the same sort of light as the original, so indicator is coloured.... the modification for new light is to snap a small bit of plastic from below the breather pipe to 'increase air flow'

So with the introduction of a new light cluster are you saying Audi do recognise there is a problem with the original one?

They conceed that there is a problem, but the cure is to increase air flow............... yer right..... if water can get in, the light will fill with condensation, it will eventually fail or become discoloured. Audi UK are saying that they will not replace lights solely because they have condensation in them, only if they leak, which they all must do..........

I read a technical note somewhere about the B5 headlights doing the same. It stated that it was due to breather holes becoming blocked i think.

Surely it cant be hard to design a headlight that allows expansion of the gasses inside due to heat but that still keeps moisture out.

Are the RS4 headlights different to the A4 or S4?

Problem seems to be across new A4 range, regardless of if they are Xenon or not....... never had a problem with B5 in nearly six years.............

I've just had one front fog light, reverse switch in the gearbox (reverse lights sticking on occasionally)and a wheel center (laquer gone a bit dodgy) replaced all under the warranty. There was no suggestion that the fog light wouldn't be changed even when at the time i took it in it was free of moisture!
