Thanks Paul, that really helps
This problem has been driving me nuts, so it’s good to know I’m not the only one.
I’ll follow your advice and see where that gets me. Dealer has been very helpful so far!
This minor problem certainly isn’t affecting the huge grin I have on my face – this thing is awesome!!!

Car booked in for this Thursday to get this Bluetooth thing looked at. Let’s hope the dealer can sort it (and give me a nice courtesy car for the inconvenience)..... Will keep you posted.

Darren, good luck. If you need any assistance I can provide the contact details for Lancaster Audi service dept who know what to do.
Simple, Audi have admitted they have a prob with the current (ie last month or two) supply of RS4s

I know they have changed something in the last wee while, I believe Q7 and one other model are having issues...

Quick visit to the dealer today and I now have Bluetooth!
Seems a simple “reboot” was required by the workshop and now it’s all systems go. Haven’t used it extensively yet but v. impressed so far.
Whilst I was there I saw my first RS4 Avant – very nice and perhaps one to consider when/if the patter of tiny feet arrive. Cool plate on it as well RS04 ... (anyone on here?)

Hi Paul.
Hope you're well!! Heard you were stuck in NY the other day and missed the motorshow? How's the Black Beauty??? My S4's discrete, fast when needed and lovely... but when I see Kam's RS4... man, it's just fat, rapid and VERY rude!!!! Hope you're having SOOO much fun with it! Road Angel's pretty useful eh??

For those of you with dash prep and a phone which you cant get a cradle for.... I removed my cradle, striped the guts out of it and re-connected them.. wrapped the hole lot in foam and gaffer tape and cable tied it to the chassis of the sat nav.. but left with two holes in dash

Nice people at Audi have agreed to supply new centre console without phone prep.... under warranty.........cost price £140....
The phone link still works perfectly and the I have to foot the bill for the labour to fit said console

Glad to hear you have gotten rid of the cradle. It did spoil the car. Why would anyone want a cradle when the phone can connect via bluetooth and be controled from the dash! or am I missing something?

At least they have provided the console free of charge result - is it a lot of work to replace? How do you find the bluetooth? I use both bluetooth & cradle funny enough I find no difference.

MarkB, you're absolutely right. I just don't see the point of the cradle since it's all controlled by the RNS-E. In fact I don't understsnd why Audi won't allow the armrest fitted phone together with the RS4 wheel as don't need the steering wheel controls if you have the sat-nav.
I absolutely detest the dashmounted cradle (it oversized and looks stupid) but considered ordering it and then removing it as Simple1 has done. In the end I deleted it from my spec and decided to get CraigyB to retro fit the Audi Bluetooth kit for me. It's the exact same kit as Audi without the cradle and costs just about the same fitted. However, it does save the hassle of ripping out the cradle and replacing the centre console.
I'm picking my RS4 Avant up on Saturday, and I'm hoping to get the Bluetooth fitted next week together with TV in-motion.

I considered getting the TV fitted, but isn't the aftermarket fit not as good as a factory fit because at factory the aerials are multi-directional whereas with the aftermarket one you could have difficulty in getting good reception, depending on your parking position.

mjh123, I've got the factory fit TV. TV in-motion is to override the speed sensor so that you can watch TV on the move. It's ideal if your stuck in a traffic queue, or simply to keep the wife and/or kids happy on a long journey.
