Mark,

That sounds crap (mp3 directories on SD cards)! Have you looked at navplus.us forum? I seem to remember some articles on there about the structure of the directories. At least that is only a software problem that Audi should be able to fix and upgrade.

Back on the Dension - I can use all of the iPod interface while it is docked although if I use the head unit to back up a track or go forward it can get confused - hence I just use the iPod interface.

Dietz unit - don't know price yet - details are sketchy.

Will check out the navplus.us forum to see if I can find out anymore.

Agree, the Dension sounds like a better, if not perfect solution - might just get one of those installed for the time being. At least you don't have to keep unplugging the thing to change the source. Obviously, someone high up at Audi has decided that the click-wheel must be locked on their version, so as to avoid potential "accident" claims!!!

OK, popped onto navplus.us and have found the solution to the "directory" issue on the SD cards.

Pressing the Return button (not documented in the handbook!!!) takes you to the root of the card - from there you can then select any directory you like - so it looks like high capacity SD cards may be my best option - you get real title names, and now, full control. I'm going to send off for some 4GB SD cards from ebay, and see how they perform - so far I've tried 1GB and 2GB cards from Sandisk that work OK.

Cheers, Mark

I'm using two 2Gig SD card, one for me and one for the wife. 4Gig SDs do work well although do take longer to load initially and you may have to be a little cunning regarding the total file / folder count limit. Until there is a fully comprehensive interface for the iPOD I will be sticking with the SD cards
(just paid £65 inc for 2Gig 150x SD)
