Riz You will love the car!! - I have driven it at silverstone last year - best thing Audi could of done - i was getting nervous about buying a car I had never seen or driven. All doubts straight out of the window after the first lap - it is a very special car! - secondly to the all B5 RS4 owners - I have always lusted after one these- couldn't afford one 5 years ago- but did have the opportunity to test drive one in Nov 04 - it was the"famous" 53" plate one- and yes when the turbos's kick in - it too is brillient!! - heart said I should of bought it instead of my A3 3.2 SP DSG but head said No and put a deposit on the new RS4

THe B5 RS4 is an icon- to those in the know, B7 RS4 - well we will wait and see I suspect that there will many people fondly recalled days in the B7! saloon or avant (Cab - oh dear AUDI!!)

One fitted the genuine 19 inch RS6 alloys instead and thwack!! like a slap round the back of the head with a large wet halibut, five pico seconds later that alloy becomes a deal - of - the - week look alikey pikey offering in the sodding S - Line range

RS brand dilution has continued apace to the extent that now even an old dyed in the wool Audi aficionado such as myself cant tell an S - Line shopping tart from a bona bahnstorming RS. The worst of it is that thanks to this corporate greed, now I dont even care! Sad really.
100% agree. Yeah I forgot about RS4 wheels appearing on every model soon after.

Agree fully with Matt & Riz. One day in (no photo's yet - need to wash the bloody thing already) and it's still putting major smiles on my face. Only downside is the run-in. Staying below 5K rpm is not as easy as I thought!!! More to come later. It's fantastic!

Just back from a run to the Lakes. Now 400 miles in, and it's still fantastic. Full review after the weekend, when I have to sit in the office, instead of playing with the new toy!

Got it with the standard bucket seats. Very comfortable indeed - spent about 4 hours in them today without any sign of wilting. Also have had an operation on my lower spine a few years ago, and do tend to feel discomfort relatively quickly, if there's any to be had. As to size, well, I'm 5'8" and about 11.5st, so while not the slimmest, I'm not that bulky either. Took a few of my mates out for a spin last night, one of whom could be said to be "large", and he found them a bit of a problem though. Rear legroom, which is a bit tight in a friends B5 RS4 did not cause anyone any problems.

Used to own a Noble 3R, and the seats in the RS4 are definately much more comfortable than that was!!

Also, steering is very light when parking etc, but gets much more solid on the move - ordered mine with the Sport Suspension +, and while not as rigid as the Noble was, it does feel pretty solid when weaving from side to side at 40mph. Can't wait for my first track outing, when the 2K miles are completed, and I can really get to grips with full throttle.

More to follow, you can be sure of that.

Cheers, Mark

Oh, yeah, one other thing - 5K rpm brings a not too slouchful 120mph in 6th - came back on the motorway. It's also very torque'y, and pulls in 6th from 30mph without any bother. Drove up from Leeds to the Lakes the "back way", and didn't really need anything other than 5th and 6th to make good progress - then again, it was relatively busy going up there today, so I was mainly following other cars.

Cheers, Mark
