I read this post and my heart sank, it really did. I have sympathy for any geezer who has their car nicked by a lowlife piece of <beep>. I had a 2 year old 328 nicked a while back and I was distraught for a while....

Fuckin greezy stinky bastards, time to fit a 40k volt cattle prod to the seat, activated by telephone....drive it away if you dare.... :<beep>_you:

Bob,

I am talking crap its not Spyball, sorry thinking of bikes. Its IMob, but I cant seem to find much on the net anymore?

Great system, the system calls you to tell you the car is on the move then you have the choice of killing the engine once the speed is below 15mph.

Once below 15mph, the hazard lights come on and the car stops.

Your correct on the tracker, the Horizon does have time zones.

Whilst on my test drive the other day the dealer mentioned that the security system fitted to the car was activated by the bluetooth signal from your mobile. (He was clutching the mobile phone which obviously goes with the car) You get two other bluetooth only devices which the wife can have (or not  ). GPS system which is relayed to the police if the car goes. Usual movement sensors etc., but also once the car is declared stolen by you they shut it down remotely. Have to say they will only do this if its been found by the police and they give the instruction to shut it down when its safe to do so. £800 fitted.

May not be the best way but buy a pay as you go mobile hard wire into the car you can then follow a signal from the phone off the net you may not be able to shut the car off but you can pinpoint to a mobile mast nearest the phone I know people who do this. www.followus.co.uk

Just been emailed the figures for Imob. Cost, comparisons etc. If anyone's interested PM me and I'll forward them to you. I can't post them here because it consists of powerpoint presentations, excel spreadsheets and Mpegs.

Saw Imob a while ago and it looked very clever but it's very new technology no? Don't suppose anyone has got one? Love the idea of it, shame you cant wait for the little tykes to get up to speed then use the phone to hit the brakes... (whilst undoing the seatbelt)

I think it's a matter of keeping a low profile and reducing odds...

keep your car out of site,
occassionally drive the back ways home,
don't leave and arrive home at exactly the same time every day,
watch your rear view mirror,
don't use it as your daily driver.
park another car(s) behind it.

I don't think debading helps.. most theives know what they're looking for.

When you're home a sleep.. keep your keys on the bench just in case.
