Official Press Photos - RS4
RE: Official Press Photos - RS4
Acutually, just seen the .movie. Ignore that rubbish I posted earlier. If it sounds like that I love it, the wing mirrors are aesthetically pleasing and yet gloriously subtle. And the wonky sterring wheel is a work of genius.

I think the first picture looks a bit 'bling' - especially those wheels but sounds very nice in the video.

Specs sound wonderful, just needs to be Avant. And deliver on brakes and suspension, ultimate power or torque it doesn't have -nor will you get it by chipping. Maybe revving it on the road will change my perspective, we'll see. I must say B5 rocked me more when it came out.
The steering wheel looks the part to me. Anyone notice the logo on the FIS?

I must admit I'm not the biggest fan of 'bling' wheels, but I love the look of those.

I must say I quite like it. Naughty face, less civilised than the B5.

If my math do not betray me, we are looking at 1650kg, a fine trimming exercise from the porky S4. This, the new diff and DRC should make for a nice set of wheels. Can't help smiling at the gadgets, though: push-to-start, push-to-sharpen throttle, etc.

I quite like the design, except for the wheels (which makes it start looking like a ZT-T to me).
I've not been paying much attention to the new RS4, so excuse me for remarking on the proposed engine. Whilst having nearly 400nM of torque upto 7600 rpm, and an engine that revs to 8250 rpm must make it a great track car, surely it's going to be a disappointment on the road?
I think the mass works out at around 1650kg. That's not partcularly light is it? I'm sure my car is around that mass. So I am thinking that on the road, my 560Nm will be more satisfying than the RS4's 430Nm. Certainly the 0-62 of 4.8 seconds doesn't sound like great low and mid speed performance, and again I'm sure my car is capable of that.
So, once more noting that I am NOT concerned about excessively breaking the speed limit or tracking my car (and I think that a lot of people are the same as me), this RS4 is not a step-change in performance over a tuned B5 S4, which is what I would expect it to be!

Any news on build numbers? Limited or will we see them everywhere like M3's? This is as important to me as spec, and I'd love to know if my B5 is going to maintain some rareity value or whether it's going to be worth £9.99 in 2006...
