What makes a true purist RS

1) Outrageous bodywork
2) Phenominal performance
3) Avant styling
4) Limited production run
5) Not destined for executive carparks

I can agree with this.
IMHO - The RS6 should never have had an RS badge as it is not really distinguishable from an A6.
Assuming you are referring to visual distinctions - front bumper, rear bumper, side sills, rear spoiler, wider arches than the standard models (it just so happened that the arches developed for the other V8 models were quite wide enough for the RS), and tailpipes - what else do you need? How much more did the RS4 or RS2 have?

Besides which, one of the big attractions for me is the stealth.

Very stylish bodywork I'd have said  With subtle differences to the S2 it developed from! Definitely something a little more menacing than the S2 - perhaps the grills on the front bumper etc. Then's there's the wraparound rear reflector, the Porsche wing mirrors and the Porsche wheels.

Certainly find other cars tend to scuttle out of the way if there's an RS2 bearing down on them

I would have to go with the Saloon. I think it is a better looking car.

Are we saying the 6 isn't up to much? A S/H one was going to be a serious option if the 4 was going to be 52k+ and unlimited numbers.... I'd better go and try one.
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

I don't get it. The Avant is a station wagon, right? Why would you guys rather drive around a station wagon over a sedan. That blows my mind.

Its a Fact that Saloon versions of Cars have never sold well in the UK, we seem to prefer Hatch's or Estates (Avants).....

Just think.... Golf a hit in the UK, Jetta, Vento Bora (A hit in the states and low sales in the UK.

Its a same with the S/RS.... the whole point of having a RS car is that they are the top of the list as the worlds fastest Avant cars.... there stealthy and will rip anything apart that tries to take it on..... The saloon which still captures me as its just a nice looking machine is all to common, you can have a fast saloon Audi, BM, Merc, Jag (maybe not), Volvo, Scooby, Lancer... with the avant, sub5 or even 6 second cars consist of Audi..... maybe the Galant VR4 Legnum.... and that weird Subuara Imprezza thats pig ugly!

The RS4 is in no way a large Station Wagon in fact they are fairly small boot size wise, but the most important thing is in the UK we let our Dogs travel fast as well..... why should they be left out of the action.....

Haha. I understand. I guess it is just in the United States where no one would be caught dead in a wagon, whether big or small. Don't get me wrong, it is a ridiculously fast and beautiful car, but I would rather take the Saloon over the Avant.

First off being as young as you obviously are; To make a statement like "no one" just shows your ignorance. It can be said that LESS people drive "stationwagons" here...no one is incorrect.

In fact....Kujo and Myself wish we were getting Avants however we will take what we can get.
Get your facts straight young-in before you start running your mouth.

Haha.....Me and Kujo talked about this for a long time. I know that less people drive station wagons here, sorry for that mistake bud. What did you drive before this. Did you have an Avant or a Saloon?

I do believe that Quattro can make Saloons and Avants with RS badges.
To say an RS HAS to be an Avant, just holds the line back.
It has to evolve and grow.

I've driven both saloon and Avant Audi's.

Personally, I'd like an Avant for many reasons.
I don't care if folks in the US for the most part don't like 'wagons'.

I love the estate look and feel on the road.

And what better Saturday would it be to run/smoke a 911 off the line in a wagon.
Espcially here in LA, where egos are bigger than the cars....

I'm buying a Saloon, because we'r not getting Avants.

If I had the choice, I'd be driving an RS4 Avant.

Hey Kurt,
I got a question? Would you travel with your car? I would like to schedule some track days for us here in the USA. Maybe you could help me out with the scheduling unless there are some already. I don't know of any.
