The bottom line is the current slab-sided A4 shape will never make as good a looking car as the RS4 without some serious work on it. Avant only please. V6 please.

Totally my wish as well!! -----) Avant only /more Agressive (but yet discrete ) / V6 biturbo

It's easy, right

Well, about giving a tip: of course they should look for themselves, Phil, I agree absolutely! Tip would have been sth like:

"are you aware of RS246.com, some power users discussing joys and disappointments of current S/RS models, and their hopes for new models".

Not more. As you guys seem to meet/talk to this gentlemen from time to time, maybe you mention it in one of the talks.

I shut up now (on this topic), was just a thought.

What is the car next ot it on the right ??
Just wondering if that is another one, so a partial rear view possibly ?

I agree it does not look agressive enough.
To be honest I have great difficulty in telling any of the current crop of A4/A6 models apart from the front, as the layout above bumper level is almost identical, and that is the bit you tend to look at first.

Try it on the picture - what do you look at _first_...

As ror avant only, doesn't this stem from the RS2 / Porsche involvement ?
Since they ain't involved any more, does it really matter ?
I'd have an RS4 saloon if they made one (or even a coupe).

Just my thoughts.

Cheers,
John.

Could it be an RS6? That's what the badge says

John, car on the right is an RS6 mate. Can even see the badge!!! Not impressed, slapped wrists for you.

I quite like the subtlety of this car. It doesn't need TOO much changing. I'm with you on the "it needs to be aggressive" front, but a lot of the time you can make something very aggressive from just widening it slightly. Nothing major, just squat it down a bit, widen the track a touch, square out the airdam so it's just a bit beefier. To me an RS should look like it's going to suck you up, chew you up and fart you out violently through the rear. Just my view!

no one has mentioned the wheels yet.i think they look great on the rs4,but would audi use 4year old wheels which every boy racer puts on his golf gti,or audi driver adds to their standard vehicle.
i would think they could come up with something better than this for their new rs.
they have managed it every other time.

I'm with Conti, it's so blatantly an RS6!!! That rear light cluster is bog standard A6 saloon fitment, A/S/RS or whatever, it's all the same. Oooh an RS8, a pleasurable thought that enters my mind every now and then, sort of like those really realistic daydreams involving swedish ice dancers. Anyway...

Rock on (got one now )

I was at work and could only take a quick look !
Besides, that could maybe means the other one is an (modified) RS6 too

I was at Quattro GmbH before the Hockenheim RS Challange and I saw the same car only in different color.

It was an S4(B6) but I could see the intercoolers through the front bumper (that means turbochargers! ), just like you can see at this picture. It also had the 18" 9 spoke rims but with huge front brakes!
In the inside it was full of cables conected to a notebook.

According to my opinion it's the new RS4(B6) but in an S4 body not to attract any attention. They just don't need the RS4 body to test the car. I mean engine, suspension, brakes etc. I think that there is another RS4 with the correct RS4 body in the aerodynamic tunel, for testing.

This picture and the car I saw increases the hope for an turbocharged RS4 but even more I hope in a light RS4, something like the CSL.
