Yes should be, at least as long as it's full Audi warranty.

Read the full document here, for what is/isn't covered:

https://insurewithaudi.co.uk/library/pd ... _02_05.pdf

£1200 sounds like the cheaper 'named component' warranty, which doesn't include consequential cover. So if you have a DRC shock that leaks (the fault), yet that takes out one of the expensive central valves. Then you'll be paying for the DRC central valve replacement.

The full component policy includes consequential cover up to £2k. So for me, running an RS product means having a suitable sized slush fund available, should anything be required, as components are not cheap. Having full Audi history and warranty, will certainly help prevent you from dipping into that slush fund, giving you peace of mind to use these great cars.

Unlikely to go wrong with B14/B16's or KW V2/3.

all 3 are ok , b14 is not adjustable damping / rebound B16 are easily adjustable . KW rears have to be removed to adjust rebound , i have B16 and are so adaptable , setting 9 is stiffer than DRC but not much setting 1 is track so is great fun , but you will need stiffer roll bars with coilovers if you choose as the OEM ones are soft , due to the DRC doing its job, even a much stiffer rear on its own will help with turn in but sometimes i had lift off oversteer even with DRC when i fitted H&R , now its solid , near pulls the tyres off the rims lol
Phantom black saloon ,PES M112 Supercharged 520ps/595nm K&N filter, 100 cell milltek cats, res valved milltek system. 8 and 10mm H&R spacers.H&R roll bars, "smoke chrome " alloy refurb. JHM Quickshifter, Bilstein B16 coilovers , uprated diff mount ,50/50 devils own WM kit so 1.4 litres/min in intake approx 10% more power and torque

The centre valves are £500 each apparently. I've asked MRC (nearest) to quote for V3s or B14/16s, cold air feed and Stage 2 Map but they aren't the best with communications. All are height adjustable so I may just go for the cheapest as I'm not a track guy.

MRC favour KW, others favour Bilstein. Swapping the suspension over isn't a massively VW job, you'd be ok getting a reputable garage that are familiar with coilovers to do it or you could use some like centre of gravity so they could set the cars geo up correctly too. Then get MRC to do the mapping, etc. You'd have the benefit of being able to pick which suspension you want and getting the best price. I'd recommend giving Revolution (forum Sponsor) a shout for good price cars on the Billy's. They can no doubt source you some KW's too.

So buy separately and get a local to do it, Marc?

Only someone with a good rep that you can trust. or, like I say someone like Centre of Gravity as you'll want the car setting up right anyway. Don't get me wrong, MRC will absolutely fit it all and take away any headaches, but the suspension isn't a massive job if you have someone you trust.

Whatever you decide, is certainly purchase the coilovers yourself as you'd likely save a decent amount though someone like Revolution.

B14's are probably the cheapest option, the B16's offer more adjustability if you need it. I believe they are slightly stiffer from the off too.

Guys, looks like the DRC finally died last night. My original intent was to replace it fully but the cost is too much. What is the preferred option for a non - track car (might do Nordschleife once a year).

Bilstein B14, B16 or KW V3s?

I'd like the front ride height to mirror the back but don't feel that I'll play around with damping etc.

Thx guys.

(There must be a better way of attaching a picture than having to upload it to a server!??!)
I was in the same boat about 4 weeks ago. Ended up going for the KW V3 kit and am really pleased with them. No real difference in ride quality than stock but car feels a lot more responsive and planted, especially on B roads.
