There's a few Edinburgh lads on here who should be able to offer alternatives for you. If I can find my old vagcom cable I'd be happy to help you run some checks. I know the b7 pretty well Image
Thanks for your help, would really appreciate running some checks, what do you have in mind?

Go see Stan at Ecotune. Then go to MRC and enjoy the drive back home.

Arthur test for starters plus a general scan to see if there's anything lingering. As I said the ecotune dyno reads pretty accurate maybe stick it on there see what it says

Ok so tonight I decided to give the 3rd gear 3 to 8000rpm a test to see how the car performed.
I did 3 runs on the same flat road, 1st run 8.9 sec, 2nd run 8.8 sec, 3rd run 8.8 sec
So I'm a bit confused the car is performing the test in round about the correct time supposed to be 8.5 sec.
How could this be going on the dyno figures I got 291 at the flywheel.
Seems a bit strange to me that. Defo going to get it into Ecotune for a second opinion.

My RS6 was in just before i bought it from another forum member who has had both his RS4s in there and a number of 535s. Also know a number of other folk who have used stan for a host of different cars and nothing but positives. He has a tuned C7 RS6, sounds unbelievable.

There is also A for Audi in clydebank, they dont have a RR but know there stuff.

The dyno doesn't measure flywheel bhp, it measures wheel bhp and the operator applies a correction factor for powertrain losses. Some operators do this properly (by measuring on the overrun) but others just make a random guess.

The other factor is that the RS4 is very sensitive to IAT, so if there wasn't sufficient cooling when on the dyno then the power would be well down.

If you're doing the 3k-8k in 8.8 seconds or so then you're a bit down on power, but I would be amazed if it's as low as 291bhp.So I would be inclined to treat the dyno "measurement" as very suspect...

Have it checked then complete a track day and drive the car like it was designed for. Stretch it's legs as that's what the cars were were for. Mine felt miles better after a days thrashing.

Good to hear, I gave them a call today and got the car booked in for a run on the 4th of Feb so we'll see how it goes.

Agree with u on A for Audi there top guys in there, that's where I took my car when I picked it up for the timing chain. Top job.

Hi Dave, so why do both the pictures I have posted up of the dyno graph quote flywheel torque and flywheel HP????????

How do you think it measures flywheel bhp & torque when the only points of contact between the car and the dyno are the wheels?

The ONLY way to actually measure flywheel bhp & torque is to take the engine out of the car and fit it onto an engine dyno chamber.

A wheel dyno measures WHEEL bhp & torque and relies on the operator to CORRECTLY enter the powertrain losses, so what the pictures you have posted show is the operators GUESS/ESTIMATE of flywheel bhp and torque might be based on measurements of WHEEL bhp & torque.

BTW I used to work for a major sports car manufacturer who had about a dozen engine dyno chambers, so I've seen/heard this argument about "but it shows flywheel bhp/torque" many times before :bigblink:

Wooooooow no need to be so patronising Dave was only asking a simple question, looks like I hit a nerve there.
