No in Jersey, so taking 9am boat to St Malo. Have no definite plans as having just got the car and with a 40mph limit here wanted to get the car to France for a blast for a few days. I'm was thinking about heading to Le Mans over the weekend actually. Is there an event on or something? I checked the website a few weeks ago when I planned the trip but didn't see anything listed?

Looks like there will be at least 3 UK RS4's zooming round the B roads in France this weekend!

Would love to do that. Definitely a plan for later this year as I have never been, or had a car worth going in before! Very envious.............I could of course divert my plans but need to be back in Jersey on Sunday night so not sure I would have enough time, heading from St Malo puts a few extra hours on the trip each way. However, I'm now going to check the Micehelin route planner and see what it says.........

I went over to Le Mans last June and depending on your ferry crossing route (I arrived at Caen) there are some fantastic B-Road routes to get to the circuit without touching the Motorway (mostly) and I didn't see a single Gendarmes until I got the outskirts of the city. Maybe have a set of stickers in the glove box and a good story as to why you forgot to apply them on the ferry!

yeah you would unfortunately probably need a bit longer to make it a worthwhile trip, i reckon it is 8hrs from St Malo to the Ring, whereas from Calais it is only 4ish. definately worth it though for any petrolhead to visit at least once in your lifetime...... my 3rd time within a year :)

Agreed, I normally go to Le Havre and tell the sat nav not to use toll roads, the drive is great fun with the roof down and there's hardly anyone else on the roads, rarely see a local plod either

I'm off to France Friday too, and wasn't going to bother with the stickers, I'm non adaptive lights so would love to k ow where the switch is located if it's easy to do?
You need to open the cover where the headlight is, next to the bulb these will be a white tab, push this and it will drop the step in the pattern. Very fiddly, headlight off will be the easiest and fastest way

mustdash, what day and time are you going to lemans? I'm going on Friday catching the 5.50am train. I always take my lappy and VCDS when going on long journeys so if your going to be there I can switch it to tourist mode for you.

Ha ha - just re-read this post...............the speed limit is 40mph, but that doesn't mean I drive within it! :blackrs4: The main problem is that you tend to run out of tarmac here in jersey given its only 9 miles long by 5 miles wide!

Last year we went on the Wednesday but to be honest the drive was a let down as there were no other cars to, er, play with ?!

The race starts at 3pm Saturday so we'll still be there for some night practice etc. Where do you hail from, if your passing through Twickenham area I could do it for you mate?
