I bought one, only one in country had black stitching although I wanted white, should have it on Friday. After some more digging I found the following site where you can buy them for 38 quid cheaper than Audi

Here is the part number of this gear stick:

8X0 863 278 Q QQX

I only used the aluminium poke, not the leather boot at all. This because the boot doesn't fit (smaller).
The stick itself is a straight fit and the gear shift pattern is correct as well (both LHD & RHD).

The lock ring that holds the leather boot is very tight!

This is the one I ordered, this comes with black stitching however I had assumed the gaiter wouldnt fit so its a case of transferring the knob over which I'm assuming is pretty straightforward.

I have at work part numbers for all variants but like I wrote above never mind the color of the stitching because the leather boot will not fit on B7 RS4.

4th letter from the right determines if its 5- or 6 gear pattern and year model of A1/A3. Mine has Q and fits 100% and has 6 gear pattern.

I don't know the letters by heart but J could as well be 6-gear. There are 2 variants depending on the year/month of manufactoring of A1 model.
