The DRC is a great system when it works. The latest version seems to have addressed the reliabitiy issues too when installed correctly.

I agree the KW V3's are great, ride comfort is pretty good as well.

But when you fit uprated ARB's (which you will do unless you like high speed body roll) the ride becomes quite harsh around town.

I do love my current setup but if I am honest, the standard setup is still the better compromise on a non-trackday car.

On the contrary - when DRC is set-up correctly as Coffey mentions, there's little than can get close for everyday driving...

The system is very good - if replaced like-for-like you need to entrust it to a tech who know's DRC, has the correct tool and does not over or under pressurise and equally drains the fluid out completely from the rest of the system before any work - it's a fussy process apparently and easy to get wrong by a inexperienced tech in DRC...

Sounds like with a bit of work you can get aftermarket KW v3's to work pretty well too. You save some cash and get to play with all the different settings.

But... I think DRC is fantastic. Just like the high revving V8, it's part of the car's character. Tyneside Audi have DRC equipment and techs trained to use it. I had mine pressure checked, flushed and repressurised aged 5 (as an experiment more than anything else) - I couldn't quite believe it would've kept it's pressure from the factory, but it did. Last month (aged 7) the car needed the two rear shocks replacing and didn't think twice about it. It handles like a dream, even on rough B roads.

Yes, the one at Silverlink is called Tyneside Audi. Perversely, the one in the city and actually beside the river Tyne is called Newcastle Audi. They're the same group/owner, but apart from one job I've stuck with Tyneside (at Silverlink). Was originally for 'better the devil you know' reasons but now I get on well with the workshop manager. He's a proper mechanic in an Audi Tech disguise.

I've probably stuck with the dealership longer than most sane people would but that's what good customer service does to me.

The AD has it's limits though. I get stuff done at Revolution too - in fact it's in there now to have a vacuum issue diagnosed. I think you need an intimate knowledge for stuff like that so I went straight to them.

I think they all give advisories. For example, they told me the rear DRC shocks (more the conections to the pipes) were badly corroded when I was getting the sport suspension converted to sports suspension plus. I didn't need to replace them but I decided to have it done at the same time. Could've saved myself a few quid and waited until the corrosion caused a problem. Good advisories are backed up with some good knowledge and explanations. Sometimes dealerships aren't too hot in this respect - I always used to get the feeling the grease monkeys were prevented from speaking to the public but I don't find that any more. The whole shiny customer service area model that works for the 95% doesn't work with the likes of us forum weirdos.

Oh and p.s. I can't really comment on the sales side. I got my car from them but I don't buy enough cars to know if they are any better than others. I always hate dealing with salesmen!

Which Rich are we talking about? would it be the one at RG MOTORSPORT, if so, I must know you from another forum.
