That's a perfect case in point. The car did tick all the boxes, but it was just too expensive. Trade value of that car was circa £17k, so a private sale price should see it priced at circa £20k. KEV_NIX had it priced at £23k, it didn't sell, yet he openly admits to being offered £20k for it (which he turned down). He instead took the trade price for it and it's now up at the Indi for the same price he originally wanted.
I know it's easy for me to say this, but as I said in my earlier post, there are 26 RS4 Avants that have been on PH for coming up to 2 months, which have not sold due to their price. Given I have only seen a maximum of 29 at any one time, it's always the well priced cars that shift. The last 'good one' I just missed out on was a 56 Sprint Blue Avant with 63k on the clock. At an Indi dealer priced up at £19,995. Now, put that price into perspective when you think what the indi must have paid for it in the first place, and it makes you realise spending £23k on one is barking mad.
Personally, I'm not prepared to get myself into £5k+ of instant negative equity, purely because a seller refuses to price their car appropriately to market values. I'd rather wait, because these cars are not that rare and sooner or later one will come along at the correctly priced max £20k tipping point.
