Only the 997TT and the Carreras get it, as well as the Caymans/Boxsters and Cayennes, but NO GT2/3 engine has DI as of yet.
really?

now
check out their wesite
Since when has a 2008 article on Autoblog been a reliable source of information? Check out www.6speedonline.com where people have already taken brand new 3.8l GT3s and 997 GT2s apart, they both use the legendary GT1 engine still, not the japanese 9A1 DFI engine. The turbo and turbo S however do use DFI indeed. You can go on and call me a fool, but check your information more accurately, heck, you don't have any friends at Porsche NA?

At the outset you said you wanted to keep this thread "technical". How do all the above statements fit into that? Serious question. Let's have more information please.

All prior GT2/GT3's did not.
I'm not sure...there is conflicting info out there...

In other words, we have no credible information. Thank you.

I thought 997 GT3's may have had DFI, but I don't think so.

No DFI on GT2/GT3's.

if they are not DI, that is not the reason...

it's economic
they are still using the old gen block as the basis and for the small production numbers not economically benefiicial to convert them to DI

when the GT2/3 get the new block, they will get DI
although I'm still not sure if the GT3 doesn't already have it

but the point is Porsche sells 100,000's of cars, 99% with DI

Gents - if you're going to have another private "tiff" please do it my PM.

I for one am getting sick and tired of this forum being filled with posts of your personal disagreements.

PD, there is no tiff as you want to see it. It's fact finding, and better understanding the issue. I have learnt something today about GT2/GT3 engines as has Arthur I suspect thanks to S2 Tuner.

Also means we must not have wrong or misleading data. ArthurPe will say when he wants to discuss it by PM, it's his thread.

It's discussions like this we found out that 14k RS4's were produced and not 30k. etc etc.
