Better to go that little bit further and take it to Tyneside.

Neckarsulm

Could you do a guide - or at least a bit more detailed write up - of how to remove the airbox? Having started this thread, I've finally orded VAG COM on monday night - so hopefully I'll be able to run the output tests this weekend to find out if the air box and manifold flaps are operating. My suspicion is one or the other isn't - hence the problem. I don't have any manuals for the car so otherwise will have to suck it and see to get the airbox out.

Cheers

Yes, they have an idea of what they are doing. If you do so I can also PM you the name of the tech who does all the work on my car so knows about RS4's and you can sepcify he works on your car if you like.

Would gladly do a guide but thought it may have already been done.
Also I wasn't too happy with how I got it out and back in, does anyone know how to make more clearance? Does the headlight come out or forward easily?
ELSA says bumper off but I don't believe it or at least not to just move it out.

I don't believe inlet air changeover valve will log a fault as it's dumb so sounds like dealer BS to me.

VW Group's Electronic Service Information System [workshop repair guide], pages and pages of factory service and repair documentation, often on Ebay in the form of 20 DVDs for around £10, a bargain even if some of it is misleading or refers to LHD cars.

I too, seem to have lost the "kick". I took the car to Audi in Bromley and they reported the following:

"Checked fault memory, no stored faults, checked TPI, found 2023520/1 and carried out solution, supplied and fitted new solenoid valve and carried out readiness code."

Anyone knows what this means? Does the "no stored faults" means the flaps are definitely working OK? Anyone know what 2023520/1 refers to?

It's going to have to go back. What should I ask them to check? I guess they have just used a diagnostic tool and not visually checked the flaps. Is it worth speaking directly to a tech?

Cheers.
Mark

PS I want my kick back. Did a 0-60 in 5.6 secs on Saturday :?

I take it this work by Bromley Audi didn't fix the problem?

Looks like they checked for known faults on the TPI system and found a bulletin.

The only solenoid valve to do with this is the one that the ECU operates to open the power flap.
Does the "no stored faults" means the flaps are definitely working OK
Read the sticky post at the top of the forum, the power flap doesn't log a fault if it's stuck.

It takes not time at all to see if your flap is stuck, you don't need VAG COM to see if it's stuck open like mine was - again see sticky.
