I know this is a bit of a stupid question but is there any difference in weight. Like what is being removed is 5 to 10 kg????

Yea, pointless from that point of view, but a mate of mine has a M3 CSL and the induction sound out of that is to die for. If I could get anything close to that out of the RS4 Id be very happy. Id even give up 0.5HP for it.

Also the stock airbox is the same as the S4 and i think even the A4 so they didnt spend much time on it except maybe that extra flap on there.

Yep had mine done a month or so ago, put 1000 miles on and everything seems ok. I had a Valved Miltek & a remap by APS at the same time, and I must say the car is now a bit of a beast all in.
The Gruppe M is blooming loud and agressive when you get over 5k revs, but non existent below that, which is good as thats when you want the howl, when your pushing on. It sounds really loud and agressive when you are driving hard, I would certainly recomend the gruppe for the sound, which is what I was after..I also have owned a CSL and loved the induction sound of that car, and with the Gruppe M the RS4 is now similar, just a tad louder and more aggressive.
Dont know about power gains attributable to the gruppe M as I had all three things done at once...overall though I am very pleased with how my RS runs now, pulls a lot better, that flatspot just before it kicks at 5k has gone, its smooth all the way through and just pulls like a train..splendid!!

Ok very nice, im so tempted to get one! may I ask if they remove the cank case breather hose from the air box and replace it with an open filter (I understand why they supposly do this in racing, but i would find it a bit of a put off for me)

where did you get yours done mate?

The Gruppe M does not get loud above 5k revs, loudness is not related to revs,it is more to do with throttle position, ie three quarters throttle and above gives it its vocals. Thought Id better just clarify that reading back my misleading earlier post.
