You been for a run Ben?

Hopefully no lights? Can you notice any difference to the sound/performance with the dry filter?

I'm waiting on a reply from glen once he's back from the ring, hopefully we can get rid of these too

Coincidentally, 1999-2001 Impreza's had a maf design that suffered from filter oil contamination.

All of the same symptoms in fact am fit took a year before people realised what it was as the earlier cars had so different type of MAF.

Pipercross are aware of VAG MAF sensors having issues with Oil on the filters but were un aware that ours was one of them.

Well after my epic MAF failure at the AmD rolling road day, I think I need to change my filter before I end up in Ben's shoes.

Glen, what's the deal with the dry filters? Are they being supplied free of charge for customers with faulty MAFs or do we have to pay for them? I still have the faulty MAF if needed as evidence.

Revolution wrote:Hi all

We are now aware of the issue regarding possible MAF failures due to the oil on the cone we provide with our kits.

I am trying to get the 3 stage dry cones of Pipercross so we can get this sorted. I notice here that only 2 cars seem to
be suffering, Ben is getting 1 from pipercross and I will send 1 to Louie when I have them.

I am happy to do the same for anyone else that has had the same issue, we are expecting these in the next week or so.

Just pm me name and address :-).

thats not good, do you have the new filter? MAFs are a royal pain in the ass sometimes, can mess up if dropped or knocked etc, obviously yours was on the car at the time, so maybe its vibrating about? to be on your 4th is very odd.

Really not happy about it! Im wandering if its heat as when the Vagcom was plugged in i popped the bonnet and put my hand on the MAF housing and it was really hot like touch 2 seconds burn hot hot. Just purchased MAF number 4 from Stoke Audi. It cant really be knocked where it is as its so secure by the hoses.

S4Player did you find out why? Did Audi replace them under warranty? Thinking of putting standard air box on and claiming warranty for the old jobbies. Wandering if it may be a bad batch if you have had 8? Can only be that, Heat or Wiring now but 700miles is taking the P155.
