Amazing.
I bet all sorts of seals etc would need replacing too.
Whoever buys it probably won't drive it, which defeats the point somewhat.

I've seen that before. Been on sale for a while.

Re: B7 Saloon covered 217 miles from new!
To you?
This has been on and off the market multiple times over the past 2 years. Sold for £70k around 12 months ago, back on the market this year for £67,999.
Sold 2 months ago, now back on the market with the same seller.
I'm guessing people are purchasing, or going to purchase, and then realisng every single seal, bush, mount and part needs replacing! There has to be a reason it keeps falling through or coming back onto the market.
Incredible to see one on mileage like this, but these cars are meant to be driven and this is more like an ornament.
Re: B7 Saloon covered 217 miles from new!
It will still be on the original spec DRC shocks and these leaked like a sieve!
Agreed, the car will need a full restoration regardless of the mileage and keeping it OEM is becoming very difficult now.
Which is the main attraction of having a low mileage car like this.

If any of you are on Instagram check out jasongti
I’m pretty sure he found this went through it, had it detailed & then sold it via Silverstone auctions. It was all detailed on his page.

Thank you, I will take a look. Any info on what it may factually require would be very welcome!
Thanks guys

Thanks for this, spoke to Jason, nice chap. Said car is mint, he replaced a singular shock and some trims. Acknowledged drivers seat is a bit rough as the original owner started it and ran it every month.
On the hunt for a genuine leather or seat in great condition if anyone knows of one.
Thanks

Well it may factually require the elements that have been outlined above. The car may have been started occasionally and ran up to temperature but I agree with the others, it’s basically been sat as an ornament for 17+ years.TerribleExpert wrote: ↑Sat May 04, 2024 11:46 am

I’d be getting a thorough inspection undertaken by a company/specialist that know these cars inside out. Check condition of oil cooler, DRC pipes, aux rads, brake lines for corrosion. I’d be checking all mounts and bushes and likely replacing as many as possible. These aren’t meant to just sit for 17 years without movement. Thorough check of brakes and handbrake cable. Car will need a fresh carbon clean if it’s been started and not moved countless times over the years. That’s just a starter for 10. As I say, if you want it mint and fully operational which I’m sure you do when spending £65k+ on a B7 RS4, I’d be taking it to MRC or someone who work on these cars every day of the week with an open chequebook asking them to check and address all of the above.
Regarding the seat, how bad of condition is it? Most of these cars are now on 100k miles I can’t see you locating a seat that’s in better condition than one that’s in a car with 217 miles on it, even if it does have some wear!! May just be easier to have an upholsterer or detailer repair the existing one. Amazing what they can do with the products that are on the market today. Keep us updated on your progress - I’m sure a lot of us me included would love to see a progress thread of your plans with such a rare example. What do you plan to do with it?

Re: B7 Saloon covered 217 miles from new!se it
Honestly the seat is terrible, if I saw it in a 40k car I’d check the mot history to confirm the mileage haha. The previous guy put cream on it apparently and that’s made it really shiny. I get that can be fixed but the creases in it can’t be. I think I’ll locate a donor seat and have that retrimmed to as close to oem as I can and then I’ll keep the old one for provenance.
As for plans for it….good question, I’ve never even been in a B7 RS4 let alone drive one. I’m known for not driving my special cars in the CSL group, one of the admins and I get on well and it blows his mind I don’t use them. Which I get I should, but this RS4 is so clean underneath it seems criminal to use it but likewise seems criminal not to.
I have a manual e92 comp pack which is a rare beast, I believe it’s the second lowest mileage in the country but still 30k but at least that’s usable a little bit and I do enjoy taking it out now and then and the eventuri on it sounds like a baby CSL. They will make good duelling stable mates at least both being of the same era.
Part of me wants to get it on the road and use it a bit but keep it under 1k but part of me is happy to just keep it as a time warp example. Have to give it some thought and maybe see what it does actually need.
One thing for sure is they sure don’t make them like this any more

Re: B7 Saloon covered 217 miles from new!
Evening!
Car arrived today with zero juice in so I drove it 3 miles to the petrol station and gave it some of their finest.
Fair bit of black smoke coming out on acceleration but I’m assuming that’s carbon build up….anyone have any idea?!
Drives absolutely sweet, doesn’t even rattle!
Very much enjoy this, obviously can’t bring myself to drive it so am after another with low mileage, 10-25k maybe if anyone knows of one!

Yeah that will be carbon build up. These cars do smoke a bit, especially if they haven't been driven for a while.TerribleExpert wrote: ↑Fri May 10, 2024 8:27 pmEvening!
