Hydrogen carbon clean.

Post by 12th » Sun Dec 03, 2023 10:21 am

Passed a van near me, the side of which advertised mobile carbon cleaning. Been a while since mine was done, so I had a word. They use hydrogen, which burns at a high enough temperature to do the job, but extremely briefly so it does the engine itself no hard. Turns the carbon into hydrocarbons, which are then removed by normal engine operation over the next 100 miles or so. Also only cost £75+VAT.

Anyone heard of this sort of thing? I've heard of chemical and physical methods of removal, but not this before.

Yes, I've heard of it, here in France. Some say that it is enough to believe in it for it to work.

Personally, I have a lot of doubts about this method, won't the carbon clog the catalysts?

You can try it and tell us afterwards...(Google translate)

There are testimonials - be interested to see if anyone else has experience of anything like this.
