@demon8991 - I'm about to do the exact same setup install on my 2008 B7 Sedan.

Keen to hear from you on the ride of the H&R springs. Do they ride as harsh as when the DRC are in sport mode or standard setting?

Appreciate any info you could share here.

Cheers
@TRS842 - Hey mate, the ride is so close to DRC, if I am splitting hairs bumps are ever so sligthly more noticeable but there is very little in it.

Handling through the twisties is better and opting for the H&R lowering springs (lowers by 15-20mm) gets the ride height bang on all round in my view.

Hey Matey,

Thanks so much for getting back to me.

Can you confirm if the ride is similar to the DRC when 'S' mode is on or off?

I find in 'S' mode its rather harsh.

Hoping the H&R ride is similar in non 'S' mode if that all makes sense?

Cheers,
Trent

The ride is similar, but there's one area where it's noticeably worse - expansion joints. More of a thump both felt and heard. The front is better tied down so it's a worthwhile tradeoff, but it isn't as good or better in absolutely all areas.

Similar to S or non S mode?

Keeping in mind the ride is firmer on damper settings on DRC when S mode is activated.

Appreciate anyone who can help answer this.

Thanks

My understanding is that DRC is not altered in sport mode - just the mapping, exhaust and bolsters. My DRC lasted from purchase in 2007 until last year, so I've plenty of experience of it. That said, I use the car in S mode all the time, and that's where I am drawing my comparison. If you believe the car is more compliant in non-S mode, you'll definitely notice expansion joints more.

That was my understanding also (and I was just going to comment about it).
The DRC system is purely mechanical. It's behaviour cannot be modified by some software/electrical setting.

The 'S' or 'Sport' button does nothing to the suspension. It activates the seat bolsters (if not disabled), throttle response/map & exhaust flaps.

Attached is a screenshot from the brochure.

Yeah as others have said sport mode does not change the ride with DRC.

Roger that and appreciated.

My current DRC's are leaking and suspect they are more or less knackered.

Koni's and H&R setup going in tomorrow. Any other bushes or mounts others would suggest replacing whilst the work is being done?

Will post pictures after install.

I would definitely get the bump stops done if they are original or old.

One regret with mine is not doing those.

Awesome mate, good to see another one over here in Australia.

I am guessing you got the shocks sent to you from Shocker Boy in the UK?

Thanks, and yes rather excited to see how these do.

I ordered them from Steve at CRS.

The H&R springs I sourced from TunerShop.

Should be all wrapped up by midweek as I am also replacing the front pads on the ceramics, so I'll post some pictures once completed.

Yep, Steve is the same guy.

Did you opt for the lowering springs or the standard ones?

Oh nice, you have ceramics!!! Keen to see photos.

Opted for the H&R lowering springs. Although concerned it may be a tad too low in the rear.

Considering switching to KW HAS springs to allow me to set the perfect ride height.
