Brake sensor connector

Post by highrise » Sat May 14, 2022 9:26 pm

Hi,

I've just replaced my front discs and pads.

Does anyone know where to get the female brake sensor connector?

I know it can be shorted but have wear sensors and want it stock.

Cheers

Assuming that is the right part no. a quick search reveals that aftermarket connectors are available from Febi and Swag; both quality makes. I presume they come with a length of loom, rather than you having to do the pins yourself. They never come out of the connector satisfactorily to reuse them in my experience anyway.
When the loom side of the connector for the pad wear indicator broke on my sons A3, I went to my local breakers, and removed a couple of connectors - the beauty of this is you can then cut the cable as far back into the loom as is accessible, so that you can solder any cable joint and protect it with heat shrink (not forgetting to put the heat shrink over the cut cable before soldering it!) at the most convenient and most easily accessible point. If it is near a bend or mounting point, a small piece of plastic corrugated cable conduit will help again.
I can't see the pad wear connector being RS4 specific - there was no model listing on the aftermarket ones I saw, just Audi / VW.

Thanks for the info.

I've got a couple of connectors but will need to do the pins. I've seen a few guides and they do look tricky but will give it a go!
