How are saloon buyers going get "slaughtered on trade in"?
The way it is looking now, is that there are not a lot of saloon cars going to be knocking around in RHD so residuals are looking to remain strong. As the RS4 is the latest and fastest 'new toy' out, until the M3 arrives next year, i am hoping it will hold it value relatively well across the board both in saloon and avant variant.
RS4 (B7) Saloon production apparently has ended.

Si, i hear what you are saying, do you really think they are going to drop in value straight away if there is a demand ?
I had a Range Rover Sport that i have just sold for £500 more than i paid for it after 3 months and 3000 miles. So i am hoping for a similar scenario.
I have spoken to the dealer about the period of time the car will be on test and it is only open to customers with current orders and the test drives are always accompanied. I am a realist and know someone will thrash it. But i have no doubt the car is capable of many thrashings. Hope so anyway.

OK, suppose I am just a sceptic after owning too many Porsches.
Remember dealers will want their fat slice to part-ex a car and get it back on the forecourt at near-to-list. I will be eagerly watching the used price of saloons prior ro Avant delivery - that is the only good thing coming out of the Avant delay.

On Wednesday I ordered my RS4 from Birmingham Audi, spec'd it, roof lining colour and all, for delivery in June this year. So unless I've been had and I won't see the car until 2007, there are new cars still to be had.

Your dealer may not have sold there total allocation, ordering IS now closed - any allocation that was left is now held centrally by Audi UK's sales office -- your dealer will be allowed to order as longs as they have allocation - they will still be able to order even if they don't,but that is at the discretion of Audi UK -- but there should not be a problem - as long as they don't suddenly find a load of customers who "Apparantly" want an Audi -- they are keen to prevent speculation where possible.Davey_B wrote:Just joined this site and have been reading some of the posts.
