B7 Tyre information

Post by piman2k » Mon Nov 28, 2005 1:50 pm

Hello there, I'm new to this site.

My name's Ryan and I'm doing a project with a few of my collegues at Coventry University on the B7 RS-4 (2005).

We just need a bit of help!! Can you help us?

Firstly, we need to know the tyre dimensions for the new vehicle. We're getting mixed values from various sites. Audi say it comes with 255/35/R19's, yet carfolio think it's 255/50/R18's! We need to know this!

And does anyone know what the manufacturer of tyre is?

Appreciate any help that can be offered!

Hi there, project sounds interesting, you wanna tell us more about what your doing?

Regarding wheels, UK RS4's will have Tires 255/35 R19 as standard, the other size is not available in the UK

Other countries will have that the 18's available.

As far as tyre makes I cant help. It can change as Early B6 S4's came with Continental and later ones came with Dunlop SP's. Or it could have been the other way around.

regards

Why not come along to our Xmas event on the 11th Dec, and see the RS4 in the flesh? ;)

Thanks a lot for all your help guys, appreciate that. It's clarified quite a few points.

Basically, we're doing an assignment in theromdynamics, trying to calculate the minimum possible engine size necessary to get a B7 RS4 to 248kph (155mph). We need to take into account the full rolling resitance of the car, and so we needed to know the wheel dimensions. Thanks for clearing that up.

As for the Xmas meet, we'd love to come. We're all fans of performance cars. Where is it at? You'll have to excuse me though, I'm a Japanese car driver. We've only got one VAG amongst us and that's a 1.4 Lupo!

Thanks again guys!

Edit, you wouldn't happen to know the actual top speed of the B7 would you? We've found the Limited figure of 155mph. Well, we're assuming it's Limited. Thanks

The Xmas do details are in the meets section (At the top).

The RS4 is 'limited' to 155, but you'd need to to look at the gearing (mph/rpm) and max rpm to figure the actual top speed. The B5 RS4 and the RS6 still managed 175+ even though they were 'limited' to 155.

That's exactly what we'll be doing next then. I'll have a scout for the information at the top of the page, and when we've finished this we'll pop it up on the internet and you can have a quick scout thru it if you want.

Thankyou very much again

The Corsas are optional fits for the track day boys. I asked my dealer about these and the titanium coloured wheels and they said they were not available for special order. Anybody know different?
