So turns out our issue wasn't the switches or the MAF sensor - it's the throttle body position sensor- woo hoo that will be nice and cheap

VAG comm Fault code reader I believe audi's price is circa £1200 - we have had the code come up a couple of times but hoped with a clean that might clear it however this morning the car went into limp mode whilst OH was driving so he bypassed the friend with VAG Comm again and it came up 4 codes relating to the throttle body movement

I've never tried it, but would it be worth trying to calibrate/align the TB using VCDS first just in-case it's all over the place and throwing a position fault?
I'm guessing you've already tried this after clearing codes?

I had to change my throttle body as it went into limp mode a number of times. I think I paid about £1200 fitted at Listers Audi.
