US Turbo Kits...

So I saw this pop up on FB during the week and wanted to see if anyone else had caught onto it. There's a company that are doing turbo kits for the RS4. I spoke with them and I have been told that currently the owner of the company has fit a twin kit to his personal car which produces 900hp (700whp), pretty impressive if you ask me. They will have the single turbo kits ready to go in the coming weeks which will produce 680hp (550whp) and will cost $16,000USD. So it is more expensive than a TTS espically if you have to factor in import taxes but also produces substantially more power too....

stage 1 single turbo 93 oct stock ecu from 500 plus awhp
stage 2 single turbo full efi set up with haltech ecu from 500 awhp to 650 awhp depends on oct gas used(flexfuel t up)
stage 3 single turbo full efi set up and haltech ecu and engine built up to 800 awhp
stage 1 twin turbo 93 oct stock ecu up to 560plus awhp
stage 2 twin turbo full efi ,hatlech ecu up to 700 awhp oct gas depended (flex fuel set up)
stage 3 twin turbo full efi ,haltech ecu ,engine buit up to 1200 awhp

So let me get this right....... less power cost more!!!

If we say that a RS4 produces 420hp then with the TTS thats a 180hp gain @ £13K = £72.2 per hp
with the above single turbo kit gives a 260hp gain @ £13104 (calced with no import) = £50.4 per hp

So more power and at a cheaper unit price.. Are you factoring in import tax? Or am I missing something?

I have missed the install cost of the TTS which I think is £1500 at MRC so with everything else recommended being map, fuel pump upgrade etc the TTS is still 11500. The turbo is a full kit including a map. So TTS is 63.8 per hp.

Haha. I did think that. I didn't get the guys name but he did reassure me they're almost ready to go and the photos look legit. I guess time will tell, definitely worth following though.
