Post by RS4786 » Fri Mar 10, 2017 10:27 pm

Hi guys

Need some help please, keep getting code p2015/p2004 intake manifold flap bank 1 sensor sporadic implausible
was at unit 20 yesterday to get my drc sorted, martin took a look & said possibly need a new left flap drive unit will cost over 1k to supply/fit as they recommend carbon clean at the same time, new drive unit is around 399

so i was wondering where can i buy flap drive unit from for reasonable price & is the only way to replace it is by removing manifold is there any other alternatives ? thanks

Recommend doesn't mean you have too. I know it probably makes sense to do it while the manifold is off but is not essential. And aren't these the flaps you can remove?

Then you will most likely have to map it out. As the flap sensors will have to stay in place, but flaps can be removed.
Daytona Grey, Bilstein Coilovers, Pre-cat delete, Centre resonator delete, IM flaps/vains delete, Interior/Exterior LED kit, CAI, Black Optics.

I had play in the shaft that holds the flaps. I didn't want to replace it, but for the cost of a new manifold I had MRC remove the flaps and do a full carbon clean. +2 PS achieved too, happy days :jump_clap:

There's a manifold in the for sale section, buy that & do your own carbon clean.

I may be wrong but I believe Awesome GTI centre Manchester have an upgraded Ali mechanism for the inlet manifold instead of the plastic , they had them advertised on eBay if this is the correct part ?
