Bonnets

Post by Jules » Wed Nov 16, 2016 2:26 pm

I'm assuming the rs4 bonnet is alloy and the normal b7 bonnet steel, is this the case ?
Also are there any differences in the look of the bonnets, so would the steel one fit the rs4 without any issues and look the
same but just be heavier ?

Thanks

As memory serves me, the bonnet on the rs4 is aluminium to save weight. And front arches too I think?
I've never noticed a shape difference but never really looked so I'd get someone else's opinion on that.

Exactly my thoughts, i'm like I'm sure they are the same but wanted to be sure before I experimented with anything.

Only thoughts atm though

You might find that the RS one is longer. I could be wrong.
No matter where you go, there you are.

I know part of the RS4 bonnet is thinner too. Not sure if it is the whole thing. When you buy the triple jet windscreen washer kit it comes with 2 different thickness spacer; one for steel and and one for aluminium bonnets.

Bonnet vents on an RS4 are much like affixing wheels to a tomato..... time consuming and pointless....
