Here is what I did and it was a nice road trip to be fair. You lot have a little further to go to get to the ferry from Dublin, unless you have other options.

I think I would do an overnighter to save the worry and stress making the boat.

I have been all over the UK buying cars over the years. Oban was furthest North and Yeovil furthest south. Always went for the Stranraer boat. I don't mind a trip to see, buy or service a car.

Your write up is good.

I have to say. I would probably take the RS4 to Holyhead or Liverpool. Keep a few miles off her than going Stranraer

Still thinking about this trip and weighing up options

The Premier Inn hotel is cheap and cheerful and just off the M40. After I dropped the car off first thing, I actually headed back to the hotel until they kicked me out at 12pm. One of the lads dropped me back. After I got kicked out, I walked back down to MRC (a mile away and took less than 20min) to see how it was going then another mile walk from the workshop into the town center, the main shopping center is called the Castle Quay and there more than enough to keep you busy for a few hours.

Cracking write up and info, cheers edge.

Will be Holyhead for myself and evo triangle in the way back!

I'm not going to have time the next time I'm home, but will aim for my next 4 weeks off which is in July.

Can't wait to get it all done!

Don't Unit20 do carbon cleans. Not far from Liverpool.
Or do you think if you have travelled across the water you might as well keep going to MRC?

I got mine done in 2012 and went with MRC as they seemed to have more experience and feedback on here at the time. Also wanted to get a specific remap for her and MRC again came out on top.

I cant comment on Unit 20, but yeah its close to the ferry than MRC is.

Mine had a carbon clean not long ago, so going to MRC for stage 2 remap and a few other jobs. Will get them to check if the clean was a good job or not while I'm there though.
