Breather system

Post by bond1407 » Fri Apr 01, 2016 7:23 pm

been on a very long journey with my rs4 one that is hopefully nearing the end, from a bodged carbon clean to a bolt entering the combustion hopefully i'm close just hoping someone on here can help me finish off. its been nearly 6 months since the car was dismantled and I've put it all back together where I think everything goes (please bare in mind I did not take it apart) can someone shed any light on the breather pipes which go to the throttle body, I've got a pipe to one breather outlet but I cant see a pipe for the other one, maybe it doesn't have one?? basically can someone have a quick gander at theirs and tell me where I've either gone wrong or say yes that's right, pictures would be amazing or a diagram as to where they should all go so I know I've gone the right way. touch wood you kind people on here will save me a headache!! thanks in advance

On the throttle body itself there's one small outlet pipe on the side and one at the bottom I just need to know if both these should have a breather attached as I only have one spare pipe I can grab a picture when I'm home

Yes I've got that one but on the back of the throttle body nearest the bulk head there's an out let and one underneath

I got it slightly wrong the outlets are on the inlet manifold not the throttle body, you can see the bottom one with nothing attached and the side one with the yellow round the pipe, ive done some digging and I think this pipe goes to the bottom one and the side one should be blanked off which would make more sense as to why I have nothing for this outlet

Bottom port connects to the purge valve. It looks like you've got that currently connected to the rear port on the IM, so swap that line. The rear-most port should be capped.
