iPhone 6 mounting options...

Post by Wotsirb » Mon Dec 14, 2015 11:05 pm

Just wanted to see how you guys are mounting your iPhones in your B7's...

It's a shame Audi aren't going to do an iPhone 6 mount for the phone kit as that would be a great solution!

I am aware of brodit but I wanted to see these/other options in action!

These Kenu holders work very well.

Looks like they have a new leather version.

I've got those airframes in both mine and the Mrs' cars. Discreet and surprisingly secure.

Don't use it much in the RS4 as the phone normally goes into the glovebox where I plug it into my apple CarPlay head unit.

Why not use the OEM Bluetooth for calls and use the OEM AMI or aftermarket options to stream music? Then you can keep the pone in your pocket.

I use this http://www.tetrax.com/xway/ to hold my iPhone in one of the centre vents, the OEM Bluetooth for phone calls and a 250GB hard drive cpnnected to AMI for music (I can't get all my music onto even a 128GB iPhone).

I haven't got AMI :( did you upgrade to the newer version of RNSE?

Yes, I did it several years ago when it was still supposed to be impossible :audibash:

Confirmed? I was rather hoping they would eventually make a mount for the existing cradle :(

Audi stopped developing mounts for the cradle shortly after they stopped fitting it to new cars, so there won't be a cradle for the iPhone 6 or any new(ish) phones.

Bridit holders are amazing. I have had a couple previously, and they work soooo well.

I think this is my only solution though they do look a bit cheap for my liking!

They are very good quality. I have used the one with the lightning cable mounted in the bottom of the cradle in my work van for the past year... It has been really good. Best quality one that i have ever had.
