fitted 8mm spacers...now back wheels are rubbing?

Post by jamiedal » Sun Sep 20, 2015 7:48 pm

So yesterday I fitted some 8mm spacers, the car is sat on bilsteins which have been matched to the previous ss+ the car had before the DRC went

It seems to rub slightly on the rear arch liners and they are now loose..is there a way to remove part of these or the while thing ?

Or am I going to have to go back to invisible wheels from the front :redrs4:

Is there a screw up in the arch liner that it's rubbing on or has it already been removed?

There's tyre shine all over the arch liner (that's how I no its touching) and it feels as if the arch liner is 15mm lower than it should be there is a lot of movement on both sides

it can depend on the tyres what do you have on it ? , some are squarer than others across the tread profile and have sidewall protectors which can be the issue if its lowered a lot , i had contis with 8/10 spacers and had no issues , fitted GY F1 assy 2 and they rubbed on the front as the profile at the shoulders is much less rounded , i have had on 275' contis and they didnt rub with no spacers , depends on the tyre a lot of the time . i have the 275's on a other set of wheels ,so i compared the 255 GY and the measurements are the same shoulder to shoulder , so the profile of the GY 255 matches up to the rounder 275 conti . hope that makes sense :sekret:

Judging by that photo, they don't look close or low enough to rub. Maybe your covers have been set too soft.

Pretty sure mine doesn't rub anymore (no spacers but you can see it is almost touching when stationary). I think I wore most of the edge of the arch liner away when I had fatter tyres and faulty DRC (and even spacers too at one point).

Or do away with all the mods, and keep the beautiful looks that the car was designed with in the first place!

All sorted now arch liners had dropped and needed fastening, personally I feel the car should have come with a wider stance...if you put a standard car next to a spaced out one the differences in looks are massive....but each to their own
